Please explain the moon’s perfect size and distance from the Earth in the absence ce of Intelligent Design, in particular its affect on tides distribution of heat.

Robin was never a religious guy, but he had a saying (which he may have stolen from someone else, or may have come up with himself, I don’t know): “I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist.” Isn’t it strange that many atheists act more like religious fundamentalists than religious fundamentalists do? Atheists are some of the most doctrinaire people around. Besides everything else, they are just tiresome.

I get the feeling that when people say that God does not exist, what they really mean is that God better not exist, because if He does, they are very angry with Him. And that’s ok. God can handle it when people are angry with Him: God is so kind and so merciful, it’s ok to be angry with God. It’s not really ok to come up with a crazy new religion and call it science because you’re mad at God. Better to just be mad at God, I think. 🙂

It was published in 2004, before I met Robin, but as far as I know, Robin was unaware of this book. Or maybe it’s just a fairly common saying that I was just totally unaware of. Robin is the only person I have ever heard say it, but maybe I live in a sheltered universe 🙂
