  1. I was a Rope Master and tied the SPIE rig (pictured here) as well as rappel and fast rope. We were trained to tie those three systems and no more. SPIE rigging focused the mind because so many lives were on the line, so to speak.

In the same vein the first Marine down my rappel rope was also testing those knots, and he knew it.

      1. I wish more women could understand this. I don’t get how they don’t get it. What in the world leads them to believe that they can do what grunts do? They are delusional. For that reason alone, they should be nowhere near war.

      2. It’s not mainly women, JaC, women know this isn’t for them….It’s beta-men in the military kissing up to alpha-women in Congress/the White House, or some combo thereof.

      3. I totally recognize that in times of extreme crises, it is all hands on deck. If an enemy force invades my town, and my male relatives and neighbors tell me that I must join them in combat, then I will. But I will do so knowing that my male relatives and neighbors understand war far better than I do, and I will do so prepared to follow their orders and guidance.

There are times when women have to fight, but the women who want to fight when they are not really needed or wanted around are doing so much more harm than good.

      4. Ok! All women in the fight should be totally focused on helping in whatever way the men see fit. Women who want to tell men in battle what to do are worse than useless. Women who want to tell men what to do at all are a pain in the neck, but when they start their bossing during times of war, they become downright dangerous. To both themselves and others.

      5. I just looked it up on google, turns out you can order them online or get them at Walmart or Home Depot. And here I was, thinking it would be complicated. Saffron just sounded exotic and far away, but they sell them right down the street 🙂

      1. An old retreat ice-breaker, ST. Leaning backward from standing, trusting that someone behind you will break your fall. This reminds me of that.

  2. Judy, do you remember when a fellow Marine jumped my ass for lying because I called my course the Rope Master Course? Dude must have been watching me under a magnifying glass for years just waiting to prove I was a fraud.
    LOL

The name of the course had been changed. He pounced on me like I was raw meat.

People are funny, as in strange.

    1. I am totally serious about the Saffron bulbs- just let me know how many/which kind (are there different kinds?) You would like, and I will send them 🙂
