When I was little kid, I thought that the name “Engelbert Humperdinck” was the coolest thing ever. I could not have named one of his songs, and still cannot (other than this one, only because you just posted it) but somehow I heard his name, and loved it 🙂
This was one of Mom P.’s favorite artists and songs…I think of her when I hear him. (It’s also appropriate, somehow.) P.S. JaC, the stage name is much more memorable than his given name: Jerry Dorsey. 🙂
Dorsey sounds Irish 🙂 My mother was not happy when she heard that the name of the guy who owns Twitter is Jack Dorsey. “Oh, great, he’s Irish” she said. She is Irish too. 🙂

They are very dumb people.
Also, I just looked up Engelbert Humperdinck’s wikipedia page, and his father was actually Welsh, not Irish, so I stand corrected 🙂

Simon, you know I’m the biggest fan of your musical posts, but this one … just no!
Tom Jones, maybe if we must. 🙂
