The Don’s Early Light

He’s BAAAAAAACK!!
Didja see Trump last night in Ohio? Didja see the overflow crowd? Who else could draw a crowd like that on a sweltering summer day in a non-election year?

It was a reminder that Covid elected Ol’Jo[k]e. (And sooo, right on cue, the WHO is now telling us we hafta mask up again because:the Delta variant! Nuh uh, fool me once..) Think about it: a microorganism took control of American politics! If Trump had been able to conduct his campaign the way he did in 2016, he’d be in the Oval Office today.

I don’t know, now, whether this obvious, undeniable contrast:

between Trump’s raucous, joyous hour and a half before the mic, joking about how he couldn’t read the teleprompter because of the wind but that’s ok, he does better without it!—

and Unca Joe’s brief, obviously curated appearances before an adoring, sycophantic press corps, which often need clarification/contradiction later anyway—

will be enough to infect America with buyer’s remorse . Nor even whether that will make a difference in the vote. I’m hopeful that it will, since HR 1 failed.

But our dear Don is giving it his all. And that’s a lot.

    1. I think the D variant is just viruses doing what they always do: evolving into a more highly contagious, but less lethal strain. Like all living creatures, microorganisms “want” to perpetuate their species, and they can’t do that if they quickly kill every host they infect. Much better for them if the host only gets mildly sick, but easily transmits the mild infection.
Look, we aren’t gonna “wipe Out” Covid. We’ve never wiped out the common cold nor the seasonal flu in all these years. But in general we live with ‘em rather than die with’em, and this disease and its “variants” will be no exception. At ease!

  1. The Nevers are so ignorant, I sincerely hope they feel buyer’s remorse but … WTF is going on in their heads?

What truly bewilders me is the supreme lack of self-preservation as they continue to support destructive policies. Not to mention that this makes me work harder and smarter to defend myself.

Ok, nobody promised me life is a cakewalk, but this has reached proportions of insanity.
