…because otherwise the sheeple at L1 will never be able to discuss this in public.
White Privilege in a nut shell means picking up one’s cross every morning of his life.
In other words, accepting life’s suffering and indignities without blaming everything that makes you not happy on another race.
Change my mind.
Never could before and wouldn’t want to now!

Wouldn’t *think* of changing your mind, ST….I’ll just add an Amen.
Have they and others forgotten *white* indentured servitude, “press gangs” aboard ships, etc.? Privilege, my foot.

Yes and this is why the Left MUST destroy JD Vance, before people start reading or re-reading his book. Heaven preserve him!

Simon, this is parlously close to Kipling’s line about “the white man’s burden”, which , so, SO sadly, is all many people know of him these days. But I think he was quite accurate. Imagine how it looked to somebody born in the late 19th century. England and America were pret-ty civilized by then ,with elaborate seasonal clothing, heated buildings, sophisticated means of production, food abundance (yes I do know people were starving in London, see Mayhew)—and the Anglosphere hadnt encountered anything like that in other climes and nations. I think they—natcherly!—saw t as their mission to spread these benefits round the globe. It really isn’t …..nefarious.
Of course then, the horrible drawn out internecine bloodbath that was WWI kinda set this thinking back a tad. It sure did for Kipling, whose son was gassed in Picardy.
I’ll repeat what I wrote elsewhere (to mixed reviews 🧐): Western Civ, which has been conflated with “whiteness”, has been around….how long? Depends on how far back you wanna go, but I’d say the earliest birthdate we could assign would be Alexander, the great Hellenizer, and he died in 323 BC.
So we’ve been dominant for 2350 years max? ThTs nothing, all the great prior hegemonies had 3000 years plus: Mesopotamia, India, Chine, Egypt.
It’s still our turn. We’re up at bat right now. We are on top, that’s why we’re the lightning rod, the target of the world’s spitball and stone throwers.
And therefore, we just have to deal with it all uncomplainingly—JUST EXACTLY AS YOU, SIMON! ARE SAYING IN THIS OP. Good one!
