The Pentagon should have stopped the inauguration of China Jo Biden until we sorted out all of the implausible election results.
Change my military mind.

I would never dream of trying to change your brilliant military mind on this. You are right.

Is that legal? Shouldn’t that be up to the courts as it was in the Bush/Gore fiasco?

Under our Constitution that would be considered a coup. The DOJ and THEN the courts should have put a pause on the whole shebang, not the DoD.

Like that was ever going to happen but you are correct, it was the safe play by our General and Flag officers in the Pentagon.
I would like to call it extra-Constitutional because the DoD’s mission would have only been to investigate a limited number of remarkable oddities in the 2020 elections.

We already live in a banana republic. Our military should have temporarily waived the Constitution in order to save the Constitution.

ST, how sure are we that DOD/Pentagon brass weren’t on board with the outcome of the election?

“Tell me.”
I’m not at all sure that the ‘high-functioning conformists’ who make up the top layer of decision-makers at the Pentagon now would think there was anything amiss with the national election results. (This may not hold true for the troops, though.)

P.S. 50% chance I do not understand your question.

Referring to the premise of your OP, that the DOD ought to have intervened to postpone Biden’s inauguration until voting irregularities were fully investigated/resolved. I responded with a question about whether the DOD might have been perfectly content with Biden in the West Wing of the White House.

1. Do you not follow current events? a. What were some generals doing? b. What was the DIA doing?
2. Who is the DOD?

I don’t have access to much, ST, but it seems like the tea leaves had already been read; and that a ‘third Obama term’ was likely….DOD = Dept. of Defense.
(Lots to do for a while at the office….I’ll be around, though.)

I was not clear. I know the DOD = Dept. of Defense. I was trying to get you to be more specific. Who exactly within the DOD are accussing or is it all uniformed personnel?

Definitely *not* all uniformed personnel – Lord, no – the Joint Chiefs, etc. whose status often depends on “going with the flow”. Hopefully that’s clearer.
