Time Travel

Simon’s recent musical post and the ensuing commentary brought back a favorite fantasy:

When would you have liked to live if you had had a choice?

Easy, simple answer pour moi: Would have been born in 1946 and turned 18 in 1964. I would have been in London trolling Carnaby Street, Kings Road and Soho with a long blonde flip, minis, fishnets and lots of eye liner. (George Harrison’s first wife Pattie was my role model.)

Hung out at the Cavern, the Marquee Club, Greenwich Village, Ibiza, Spain, and may have just dropped in on Haight-Ashbury.

I can only read about these places now. 😦

  1. I think I would have enjoyed killing English soldiers under the command of George Washington.

Maybe I could have strengthened the Constitution concerning illegal immigration and a prohibition on universal suffrage.

  2. I think either Regency England…or Paris in the Jazz Age.

Did you see “Midnight in Paris”? Oh you must! S’about a guy whose dream of going back to Jazz Age Paris comes true. He falls in love, only to find that SHE wants to go back to La Belle Epoque! Liz you will love the movie!
