Simon went on to have a fabulous and lucrative career after breaking off with Garfunkel and I know he was truly the “maestro” and songwriter of the pair, but I never liked his solo music. AG contributed a certain poignancy to their music that was lost after the split. Almost reminds me of the “tragic” (in my eyes) dissolution of the greatest composing team in rock history- Lennon/McCartney. I never bought a single Wings album (dreadfully sappy) and John Lennon was just too influenced by his non-talented wife. Sad and a great loss to the music world.
