NFL ALERT

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1) are 7-point favorites heading into their matchup on Sunday, October 3, 2021 against the New England Patriots (1-2). The over/under is set at 49.5 points for the outing.

Dudes, this will be the ultimate game even though the Pats have lost some of their best talent. However, Bill Belichick is too smart and he knows everything the GOAT will do.

Kickoff at 7:00 p.m EST. Pls tune in; I will be posting my monthly football analysis on Monday.

  1. P.S. Future GM Tom Brady just single handedly recruited extremely talented but highly troubled cornerback Richard Sherman. As he said, “I just want talent and we’ll figure out the rest.”

So far, he’s 1 for 1 with Antonio Brown. Even the Primas don’t want to mess with the GOAT!

  2. Sherman has/had all the tools as a shut down corner back. I am looking forward to him playing on the same team as the GOAT.

As you know Liz, them knowing each other cuts both ways so head games can be expected. Brady’s arm beats the Coach.

Tampa will win if this is a home game. The Gronk!

  3. I’m really looking forward to this. Brady amazes me in so many ways. No team in the league wanted Sherman, talented or not, but I believe he’ll straighten up for the GOAT. As mentioned, Brown was certainly no choir boy either.

Cute side story, about jersey numbers to which players become very attached! Chris Godwin had always worn #12 in Tampa Bay but Brady asked if he could take it and Godwin acquiesced explaining: “What am I going to say? ‘No’ to Tom Brady?”

  4. Just some more rambling on my favorite topic…

It is well-known that superstars rarely do well in management positions because they don’t understand why every man on the team isn’t performing at their level. Michael Jordan was guilty of this even as a player for many years before Phil Jackson convinced him that no team wins championships with a single point guard. (Larry Bird was the exception; I thought he did a fine job with the Pacers.)

Brady is different. Let us not forget he was drafted in the 6th round!!! But he and Belichick believed that the QB and offensive line had to understand the intellectual side of the game in addition to executing plays. This can be taught and 49ers coach Bill Walsh revolutionized the game with this exact theory.

Again, excuse the riffing here but the NFL is a true passion. 🙂

  5. Texas Tech beat West Virginia yesterday 23-20, and Mike Leach led Mississippi State to an upset win over Texas A&M 26-22. This has been a good weekend indeed!
