Recalling Clapton’s account of his playing this at the time on a night when G. Harrison was in the audience; Clapton’s thought was: “Oh, (redacted), now he *knows*” – about the affair with Patti Harrison. The next thing you know, the three of them are sitting around Harrison’s kitchen table, as George says: “Okay, what are we going to do next?….Patti, I’ll help you pack.” And that was that. Cool song, too.
I read her autobiography because she was my favorite Beatle wife. Can you imagine being the muse of both Harrison (Something) and Clapton (Wonderful Tonight) ? Those two men were so talented but not very good husbands I’m afraid.
Thanks, ST. I’ll put you “on leave” for awhile. You could probably use a bit of R&R from my consistent requests. 🙂
