On National Sovereignty

Poland is determined to protect its border from “attacks by the Belarusian regime,” Andrzej Duda, the Polish president, said on Tuesday.

Good for this determined gentleman; wish we had this guy in our corner. He’s getting an enormous amount of criticism from the liberal press for this:

(This was posted several days ago but Microsoft upgraded my software to MS 11 and managed to interrupt my connection with this site and all e-mail.) I think I can re-post and want to in conjunction with Hyp’s analysis on this situation.

  1. This from the BBC:

“The Polish government called a crisis meeting on Monday and DEPLOYED 12,000 TROOPS to the region.

Poland has accused Belarus of pushing the migrants towards the border, describing it as hostile activity.

Poland, Lithuania and Latvia say there’s been a surge in the number of people trying to enter their countries illegally from Belarus in recent months. Many of them have come from the Middle East and Asia.”

I can think of no other country in Europe that suffered a more dreadful 20th century than Poland and my heart and mind goes out for the brave and stalwart Poles. They will not allow their country to be trampled upon again and have my full support.
