Je ne Comprends Pas

The Times Square celebration is on tonight with thousands of people attending. I didn’t even attend this as a 20-something youngster because of the crime and the gnarlys who showed up!

Restaurants, bars, schools are apparently closed yet again but this orgy of crime and disease and infection will carry on! What an excellent choice de Blasio (!) and I do hope your retirement is plagued by criticism that you have never experienced before.

  1. I often wish I had attended back in high school or college, when you could just kinda stroll into Times Square and out again if you wanted. But who wants to be barricaded into a side street for like 5 hours? It just sounds like a nightmare, and has ever since 2001.
From what I’m hearing , everybody in NY has Covid now, which is great because soon the entire city will have immunity. So I’m not worried about the gathering itself. As for DiBlasio, he’s a goner, doesn’t really care what happens I reckon…..

    1. Times Square during my first tour was dangerous and the proud site of the first showing of “Deep Throat.” Giuliani was criticized for cleaning it up and making it safe again for tourists and residents alike because it was a central subway stop.

Oh well … damn that gentrification thing!

  2. Ms. Sparkle:
Pleased to have a 16 year old reading this site because that was one of my favorite years! I was quite fortunate to hang with a crowd that introduced me to classical music, glam rock, and good literature (Herman Hesse, Ayn Rand, Vonnegut).

    Carry on!

    1. Don’t be too discouraged because Americans are quickly growing weary of the nonsense. I predict Fauci will be fired by Valentine’s Day, I will be healthy with only two vaxes and no boosters and I’ll be ditching the mask.
