America has gone insane.

Okay: masks don’t work! Or did you know that? Think about it: we’re,
talkin’ microbes here. When you suck in air, which is tortuously hard to do wearing even one of those party-favor lite paper masks, the virus is tiny enuf to ride in with it, Duh!(if that’s not offensive). The “experts” pretty much admitted that from the beginning.
Oh, but now we’re ordered to wear ‘em to protect other people!
Well, y’see, when you breathe out, your breath doesn’t stay inside your mask. It comes out around the edges. That’s the reason your sunglasses get fogged up. Du—-sorry! Old habits die hard.
I heard my BMD joking that he now tells people he has a new “magic” mask. Oh, yeah! You mean you don’t have one yet?
So it occurred to me that it’d be really funny to go into a store bare-faced, and claim, if accosted, that I’m wearing an invisible mask! Oh yeah, you mean you havent heard about those? Trump just okay’ed ‘em, they’re the most effective way to,ward off the Invisible Enemy! Don’t believe me? Think about it: y’never see Drs. Birx and Fauci wearing masks, do ya? That’s what you think, you poor chump: they’ve had these invisible masks all along!
I think this could be a win-win.
People can order them from Amazon, which can ship out empty boxes with a caveat to return the merchandise if any part of it should be visible.
CVS can put an empty rack prominently in the front of the store: Invisible mask! Please take one, as a free service to our valued customers. We care!

A lot of people did know.
The entire mask mania accomplished 2 things: it was an outward and visible sign of our inward and invisible slavery. You could not even look at anybody else without being reminded that we were no longer free. It was psychological warfare, and sadly we still have the walking wounded among us.
And, it destroyed the medical profession. Anyone who has an MD surely knew masks don’t work to control contagion. Masks are worn by doctors during surgery to prevent droplets of sweat or a runny nose from dripping into the wound. Yet physicians were forced to and they did adopt this pantomime, despite their superior knowledge. Knowledge and skill were discounted. And we’re living with that. Any opinion about the pandemic is a political opinion, not a medical opinion. And, any asinine idea that comes along is now cast as a “health care” issue, so the government can justify taking it out of the hands of individual professionals.
“Fear is the mind-killer”, as they say in Dune. And all of our minds were killed in 2020-2021. Having been told we were wrong about something so patently false as mask wearing, and forced to wear them anyway under peril of ostracization from society, (yea, without the mask ye were permitted neither to buy nor sell) I suspect our minds can never rise again.

I fear, Hypatia, that you are correct. I used to hope that we were not past the point of no return. I no longer have that hope.
Only President Trump can both slam on the breaks and throw our national suicide/ murder pact in reverse; and even then, it will take an Old Testament style miracle.
Any other President not named Trump will only be managing over our demise be it slow or faster than quick.
