Time to tweak this bad-boy. Just wanted to bring it to mind and tell you I wrote it on Valentine’s Day after finishing a plate of baby-back ribs at Applebees, cold and alone on FEB 14. I asked the waitress for a piece of paper and pen because the poem sort of fell into my head almost fully formed. I wote it down in less than 5 minutes on the back of another table’s receipt, showed it to the waitress and I think her eyes glazed over for a quick sec.
I will republish the 2d draft in a bit.

Cut me to the bone
with your tongue
Break my heart
with your tortures
But my Love
when you turn your smile onto me
the pain and heartbreak
go away and
I recall why and know that
I love you
Beautiful, thank you

Thank you, but how to make it better?
Probably should bone up on poetry writing, for one.

Heart-opening, ST…Hoping it doesn’t hurt so much, anymore.

It didn’t hurt so much at the time to admit the truth.

JaC, you appear to have mastered the art of coquetry.

Thank you, I think? 🙂 really, though, it is a very beautiful poem, and I think it speaks to many people.
