I know, right? It sounds complete to me. Maybe Schubert meant to get Bach to it but just got so Bizet he couldn’t Handel finishing it! 😂😂😂😂😂I crack me up!
Really though, what great ballet music! I see a love triangle, with an angry parent or spurned spouse. The lovers meeting innocently at first then in secret ecstasy..discovered! Separated! One to a ship or a mountain, walking alone. Distraught. Plunging to death. The other, unannounced, traveling to a reUnion which now can never be, dreaming of the other …arriving, seeking, hearing the sad news…Dancing a pavan next of grief..following into death. The angry one bursting in , having followed…stricken with remorse by news of the double tragedy…the funeral procession…the curtain. Thunderous applause.

I used to go to the Boulder, Colorado public library to listen to this when I was living in the streets there. As it did then, it still can put my soul to rest.
