…because she’s hard to find these days. My sister reminded me that I said, maybe 5 years ago: “We women didn’t get a very long run.” I meant it was such a short time between “I am woman!hear me roar!” and the drag Queen era, I call it “femface”: men swishing around grotesquely made up, parodying the worst stereotypes of “female “ behavior.
Thats over now, too. I mean, drag queens are stil out there, reading stories to kids at your local library, but a fellow doesnt HAVE to don the motley any more to claim to be a woman. If he says so, so it is! And y’better check his preferred pronouns before you date raise your eyes to him. (Where have we heard this kinda thing before…🧕?)
Yes ladies, men can even outdo us at being ladies.
The Bryn Mawr College Alumna magazine has a bearded lady on the cover this issue. Or maybe it’s a trans-woman. My bet is polycystic ovary disease.
But the fact that we don’t even know if it’s a woman: um, don’t that kinda say it all? And by “all” I mean: there is nothing special about being female. Even a man can do it!
Our sexuality, our distinctive reproductive organs: get over it. Boys can have vaginas, and it is just sexist if there are no tampax machines in the men’s room. Oh wait, that’s old hat now, the idea of Men’s and Ladies’ rooms. Jurassic.
I reckon this is just one more example of the truism that every idea, carried to its extreme, morphs into its exact opposite.
This was an act of self-parody on the part of my alma mater, although I know they don’t see it.
What never ceases to amaze me is that transgenders continue to believe that cosmetic surgery, hormone treatments and self-determination mean anything. You CANNOT change chromosomes!

Let me add my other favorite story about Rachel Dolezal, previous president of the NAACP who was dismissed because it turned out both of her parents were Caucasian. She wasn’t black!
“Dolezal’s critics stated that she committed cultural appropriation and fraud; Dolezal and her defenders asserted that her self-identification is genuine.”
Double standards here? Anyone?
