This was the Sunday gospel reading for me; our pastor reminded us that there is a history that Jesus draws on here. Prophets in Israel had been routinely beaten nearly to death, starved, or killed outright to keep Godâs word from being delivered and fulfilled – especially if it involves repentance or judgment. After this reading in the synagogue, Jesusâ friends and relatives rise up to hurl him off the cliff on which Nazareth was built. Coming home isnât always going to mean a warm welcome. Even if you are the bearer/embodiment of good news. The prophetâs mission is harder the closer it gets to home. Even Jesus moved on….
I have been told by Biblical scholars that Jesus sp0ke KJV English. I can neither confirm nor deny.

If He did, this would be:âA prophet is not without honour, save in his own countryâ. Which I think is much more beautiful.

Right, is this the point where people say, âCan any good thing come out of Nazareth?â
