Maybe John of the Cross is easier to understand in his native tongue than in English? I’m reading him for Lent and finding it a challenge. Not very approachable, is he?
Congrats! Whew! How long did it take you to finish it? Even in translation Marquez is a trip. Imagine my reading a short story of his in advanced placement college English class: Wow!
That is
TOO.
Much.
Golly and I loove thst saddle! ! It appears to have ferocious polleys—tnose are the parts up against your thighs, To prevent you from pitching forward (to your death) when the horse lands after jumping, or gallops downhill. Our Aussie saddles have ‘em, but this seems to be some kinda gaucho saddle ive never seen before. (And I’d buy one right now if i could!)

I was living and even dreaming in Spanish. It would be very similar to you reading a similar novel in English in 1 month.

Not surprising. For all her ‘brilliance’, Rand didn’t write well.

If I did that, I’d feel like having someone push me off my porch Jk (It sounds unremittingly depressing. And Spanish intensifies both misery and joy.)

I used to know a few Chilean cowboys. Maybe I can ask around for you? New or used?
