Today I’ve seen that clip of a robot running super fast, beating any human records, then crashing into a wall and being removed from the track—on a stretcher.
It’s a laffriot—but why, exactly?
I men , we already KNEW machines are much faster than humans. Who could catch up with a car?
So what was the point in developing these bipedal robots?
Was all that time and effort just to show robots can beat us at our OWN game, that is, at bipedal locomotion?
WE laugh when these machines fall, or trip, or hit somebody they werent supposed to hit—because we’d laugh if we saw a human do these things. Remember America’s Funniest Home Videos?
What does it mean, that we want to laugh at machines failing at tasks which we already knew they can do better than we can?
